For the first time in its history Tudor has developed an in-house movement, and what a movement it is. The new 'North Flag' model takes the best from the existing range and expands on it in almost all areas. The watch features a 40mm stainless steel case with a scratch proof ceramic rim around the bezel, an incredibly legible matte black dial and for the first time a power reserve. Another first is that the North Flag is an officially certified chronometer, meaning the accuracy is guaranteed to COSC standards. Areas which could have been neglected have been tackled, the movement is equipped with an instantaneous date change at midnight. Two other areas which embarrass far more expensive movements are a 70 hour power reserve and a silicon hairspring. A thoroughly elegant watch, whether on a bracelet or a strap, whether under a shirt sleeve or a down jacket, the North Flag deserves serious consideration.
