A chic bombé ring by Van Cleef & Arpels. Bold stripes of blue and white enamel, outlined in yellow gold, in a smooth, domed form on a gold band.
The vivid blue enamel is beautifully complemented by the warm yellow gold. A simple yet striking design.
The name 'bombé' comes from the French and means 'bomb-shaped'. This style of ring is seen from the Edwardian period onwards. However, it is in the vintage 1950s, 60s and 70s that this shaping became all the rage.
