Tiffany & Co Art Deco Cut Diamond Ring 1.26ct in Platinum

A glorious Art Deco diamond ring by the House of Tiffany & Co from the 1920s. Perfectly showcasing the iconic geometric forms of the period, a central square step cut diamond has been securely claw set into lustrous platinum and surrounded by an intricate millegrain border. This striking central diamond has been flanked by two trapeze cut stones that are further surrounded by millegrain details and spread elegantly across the finger. Romantically sparkling small old cut diamonds surround the three main central stones, with larger examples expertly used to define the top sections of each shoulder. An elegant, pierced gallery with scroll work forms perfectly completes the design, and beautifully defines the combination of exceptional design and craftsmanship. Dating to the 1920s this ring would have been a greatly treasured and flaunted jewel worn with pride and joy during the social exuberance of the period. We can easily picture the chic Daisy Buchanan enjoying a ring such as this whilst reading the pages of F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel The Great Gatsby. A byword for American luxury, Tiffany & Co was founded in 1837 and became a favoured establishment for the supremely wealthy industrialists of the Gilded Age. The house was at its peak when it was owned and run by the family from 1837-1999. Interest in the history of the House has recently been reignited due to the widely acclaimed “Vision & Virtuosity” exhibition that was held at the Saatchi Gallery in London until late August 2022.
