An 18ct yellow gold and diamond (1.30ct) tennis racket pendant by Asprey from the 1980s. A modern tennis racket is depicted in polished yellow gold, with a central oval portrait diamond set into the head. The iconic racket strings have been expertly engraved, and showcase the incredible skill of jewellers in the Asprey workshop. The handle of the racket has been set with a fancy baguette cut diamond, which perfectly complements the example set into the head and will sparkle beautifully in the light. Continuing the sporting theme, and displaying precise attention to detail, a polished gold ball link chain has been used to complete this design. Founded in 1781 with a focus on silk printing, the name of Asprey is closely associated with luxury and the Royal Warrant. Famous throughout the 19th and 20th centuries for producing high quality silverware and jewellery, the firm has been favoured by every monarch since Queen Victoria.
In more recent years, Asprey created a stunning aquamarine cocktail ring for Princess Diana, which was worn by the Duchess of Sussex when she attended her evening wedding reception in 2018.
