Masterpiece Lukusuzi Emerald Cut Aquamarine Pendant Necklace with Diamond Surround 44.77ct in 18ct Yellow Gold
Emerald Cut, Claw Set
Description
A majestic 44.77ct emerald cut aquamarine forms the centrepiece of one of the latest creations from our Masterpiece Collection. Secured by four double sets of expertly polished warm 18ct yellow gold hand shaped talon claws this impressive gemstone captivates with clear Aegean Sea blue tones. This beautiful gemstone has been set as the centrepiece of a stunning drop pendant necklace that has been inspired by our extensive collection of jewellery from the Art Deco period (1911-1940). An angled geometric frame surrounds the sides and bottom section of the main stone and has been set with sparkling brilliant cut diamonds. The drop pendant element is connected to the necklace by a trillion-cut aquamarine (2.79ct) that continues the display of geometric forms. The necklace itself is composed of a combination of plain polished and diamond set (2.16ct) yellow gold octagonal elements featuring ten Asscher cut aquamarines (10.90cts) A bold design this necklace reminds us of the statement pieces worn by the famed prima donna Anna Case and socialite Evalyn Walsh McLean during the 1930s. All the aquamarines set into this necklace originated from the Lukusuzi mine in Zambia, the primary source for aquamarines at Pragnell. The artisanal mine is owned and run by the local community. As a sixth-generation family run business the Pragnell family are delighted to support the cooperative run mine, which focuses on the welfare of the miners and the local community.
