Created in 1904 for Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, the Santos de Cartier is one of the first wristwatches ever designed. Its square case, exposed screws and refined geometric lines have made it an enduring icon. This Santos-Dumont Large model is powered by a Manufacture mechanical movement with manual winding, calibre 430 MC, offering a 38-hour power reserve. The steel case is finished with black lacquer and paired with a steel beaded crown set with a blue synthetic spinel cabochon. The black square-decorated dial features translucent lacquer, Roman numerals and steel sword-shaped hands beneath a sapphire crystal. The case back is engraved with the handwritten signature of Alberto Santos-Dumont. Presented on a black alligator-skin strap with a steel ardillon buckle, the watch measures 43.5 mm x 31.4 mm with a slim 7.3 mm profile and is water-resistant to 3 bar (30 metres).
