Pragnell and the RSC

For over 50 years, Pragnell has been proud to be a partner of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

The RSC is one of the world's most renowned theatre companies, located in our hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Founded in 1961 by Artistic Director Peter Hall, the RSC is famous for producing and performing the works of William Shakespeare and contemporary playwrights.

Shared Roots

Pragnell has enjoyed a longstanding partnership with the RSC across the decades, rooted in our shared heritage in Stratford-upon-Avon. This collaboration, which began with our founder George Pragnell, has allowed us to support the RSC's productions and initiatives, promoting the arts and preserving Shakespeare's legacy.

Our partnership, grounded in a shared British heritage and a commitment to preserving British craftsmanship, is dedicated to supporting British talent in the local area and beyond. The craft and dedication of the Royal Shakespeare Company, across all departments both on and off stage, are akin to those of Pragnell's master craftsmen and apprentices, who preserve the unique techniques required to create our handcrafted jewellery and we were delighted to announce that we will be the Craft and Design Sponsor for the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of the BFG in 2025.

Our Ongoing Partnership

Our support for the RSC's productions and initiatives aimed at preserving Shakespeare's legacy continues in 2026, and we are excited to announce the launch of a collaborative apprenticeship programme.

This initiative reflects our shared belief in the importance of artisan craftsmanship—whether on stage, in the workshop, or at the jeweller's bench. Together, we are committed to investing in the tools, talent, and training needed to keep the arts and crafts alive for future generations.

In our new film, Pragnell Managing Director Charlie Pragnell and RSC Technical Director Anna Fox discuss the partnership and support for the RSC production, celebrating over 50 years of collaboration with the RSC.
