Design & Inspiration

Pragnell Masterpieces always start with a rare gem. In this case, a rare layout of forty-two extraordinary pink diamonds, sourced from a vintage piece, tracing back to the now extinct, legendary Argyle mine. Arranged in a layout inspired by ancient Roman mosaics, where tiny tesserae were combined to create patterns of remarkable detail and harmony. This exquisitely complex piece took over 18 months to create from concept to completion.

Crafting a Masterpiece

Setting Stones

Crafting the settings for each stone took over two months, followed by the painstaking process of setting each diamond. Using a variety of techniques, two master setters spent six weeks positioning every stone to maximise its brilliance and beauty. Every setting was meticulously planned to ensure fluid movement and perfect symmetry, with 276 hand-selected colourless diamonds cut to exact measurements and the pink diamonds placed with absolute precision. This approach allows every diamond to retain its individuality, while together forming a harmonious composition.

Elegance & Symmetry

Defined by a central mosaic motif at the front, mirrored by a complementary mosaic clasp at the reverse, this Masterpiece creates perfect symmetry when viewed in its entirety. Delivering a complex suite of stones requires a far-reaching network and meticulous attention to clarity and colour across various carat weights, cuts and colours. Realising the design as a piece of jewellery that was not only beautiful, but inherently wearable and elegant, required meticulous craft and consideration.
