Description

An exceptional pair of cushion cut Burmese ruby and diamond cluster earrings from the Victorian period. Two rich red rubies (3.58cts) captivate the eye and are securely claw set into buttery yellow gold. Romantically sparkling old cut diamonds surround both rubies, and will come alive when worn in the light. Lever back fittings ensure these earrings are supremely comfortable when worn in the ear. Burma, or Myanmar, is a country that is renowned for its deposits of extraordinary gemstones. Traditionally worn together rubies and diamonds have a rich history in jewellery with diamonds symbolising love and prosperity, and rubies passion and devotion. These beautiful examples are accompanied by certification from the AGL (American Gemmological Laboratories) to confirm they have not been subjected to any heat treatment to enhance their colour.
