Description

A beautiful dress ring from the Victorian period that features a stunning rich round 6.5mm natural white lustrous pearl. Surrounded by a halo of old cut diamonds which exude a soft sparkle that gives light and warmth to the statement pearl. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, natural pearl jewellery was an instantly recognisable symbol of wealth and status. Plucked from the depths of the dangerous Persian Gulf by only the bravest of divers, the largest and most lustrous examples were worth far more than diamonds. Handcrafted in yellow gold on a fine round wire band.
Natural pearls of good shape and quality are highly rare. The setting of this exquisite ring reveals the significance of the pearl at its centre; the coronet setting surrounding it resembles a crown.
Victorians loved anything bestowed with meaning and this was particularly true for jewellery. Steeped in romance and ancient mythology, natural pearls have been revered for thousands of years. Known as the ‘Queen of Gems’, their enduring magic and purity give them timeless appeal. Check Specifications for ring size details.
