At its heart lies an entirely untreated Colombian emerald with no oil treatment, exceptional clarity and a distinctive inner glow, making this stone exceptionally rare. It was hand selected by a member of the Pragnell family.

A Verdant Legend
Located high in the Colombian Andes, Muzo has been synonymous with the world's finest emeralds for centuries. Its earliest inhabitants, known as the "Emerald People", were extracting and trading these vivid green gemstones as early as 1000 BC.
Formed millions of years ago through rare geological conditions, Muzo's emeralds are celebrated for their rich verdant colour. Today, many of the historic deposits have been exhausted, making exceptional examples increasingly rare.

Entirely untreated and with no oil treatment, this 4.006ct octagonal emerald displays the vivid green and natural character of a gemstone formed deep within the Colombian Andes. Its colour reflects the distinctive luminosity for which Muzo emeralds are renowned.
Selected for its balance of colour, clarity and proportion, the octagonal step cut, more commonly known as the emerald cut, follows the gemstone's natural crystal form. Its broad facets enhance depth of colour while protecting the stone's delicate corners.
The Astoria Setting
Framed by Light
Emerging in France during the 1920s, Art Deco celebrated geometric forms, clean lines and symmetry, making it a natural inspiration for this octagonal emerald.
Pragnell's Astoria setting reinterprets this design language in 18ct yellow gold. Four hand-shaped claws secure the centre stone, while baguette and brilliant-cut diamonds frame the emerald. Handcrafted in our British workshops, the design balances Art Deco geometry with British craftsmanship.
