Cushion Cut, Grain set
£9,600
Description
A striking yellow gold and diamond set cross locket from the Victorian period. Expertly crafted the distinct charm and character of six antique cushion cut diamonds perfectly form the central iconic cross shape. This arrangement has been defined by a raised border of polished gold that encloses these beautiful stones. Opening via a small, recessed section on the side there is space inside to hold a treasured photograph or lock of hair. A 44cm rope twist chain has been paired with this piece to ensure it can be worn from day to night. Cross pendants and lockets were particularly popular during the 19th-century, with examples being worn by Queen Victoria and her daughters to demonstrate their faith.
