Antique Van Cleef & Arpels Retro Diamond Bracelet in Platinum

An exceptional platinum and diamond bracelet by the House of Van Cleef & Arpels (New York) from the 1950s. Nine sparkling brilliant cut diamonds (13.96cts) elegantly encircle the wrist. These have been joined by arrangements of slim baguette cut diamonds (5.47cts), which contrast superbly against the curved lines of the statement brilliants. Fully signed this bracelet was produced in the New York workshops of the famous French House, which had a presence in the city from the late 1920s. During the mid-20th-century the reputation of the House was at a particular high point, with the coronation jewels for the Emperor and Empress of Iran being commissioned in the late 1960s.
