Silver George V Decorative Fruit Bowl Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd, 1932

A fine and elegant silver fruit bowl by the renowned Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd, hallmarked London 1932. Of oval form, the generously proportioned bowl is raised on a pedestal foot with four decorative shell and scroll feet, and features a beautifully pierced gallery of foliate and scale decoration running around the upper rim. Applied shell and foliate mounts punctuate the body at regular intervals, adding further decorative detail to a piece that is both refined and commanding. A handsome example of early twentieth century English silver in excellent order, equally well suited to use or display.
