A silver half pint mug of plain baluster form, the unadorned polished body rising from a stepped circular foot to a reeded rim, with a scroll handle terminating in a ball drop. The handle terminal is engraved with initials, adding personal provenance to this intimate piece. Hallmarked London 1723, this is a fine and genuine example of early Georgian silver, a period particularly prized by collectors for the quality and simplicity of its forms.
