Description

A silver dressing table piece comprising a D-shaped jewellery tray with a single drawer, raised on bracket feet, surmounted by a swivel oval mirror within a plain silver frame with urn finial and reeded adjusting knobs. Small gilt rivet detailing punctuates the tray surround with understated refinement. Made by William Comyns, one of the foremost silversmiths of the period, and hallmarked London 1902, this is a beautifully conceived piece of Edwardian dressing table silver, practical, elegant and thoroughly of its time.
