Retro Cartier Brick Link 'Escalier' 9.90ct Sapphire Bracelet in 18ct Yellow Gold
Square Step Cut, Rubover Set
Description
A collectible 18ct yellow gold ‘Escalier’ bracelet, set with 9.90cts of sapphires from the Retro period by the House of Cartier. Created during the early years of the period, this bracelet displays bold sloping yellow gold links with each angled end section set with a sea blue square step cut sapphire. This iconic design closely followed the Art Deco period but embraced Retro with the combination of buttery yellow gold and blue sapphires. The name of Cartier instantly brings to mind the sparkle of diamonds and the allure of the rich and famous. Since it was founded in Paris in 1847, the House has gone from strength to strength, being famously credited as “the jeweller of kings and the king of jewellers” by King Edward VII. The house was as its peak when it was owned and run by the founding family, from 1847 to 1964.
