An important and captivating Sri Lankan blue star sapphire (11.06ct) commands attention as the centrepiece of our latest Masterpiece creation. Hand selected by members of the Pragnell family, this exceptional gemstone surpassed any star sapphires sourced since the business was founded in 1954. Showcasing an incredibly clear star pattern (asterism), this vibrant blue sapphire is also accompanied with certification from the AGL (American Gemmological Laboratories) to confirm that it has not been subjected to any heat treatment to enhance its colour and clarity. Sri Lanka, known as “The Gem Island”, is celebrated for producing exceptional stones, including many of the world's most famous sapphires. The island's vivid, lighter, and brighter blue tones are highly prized. The 18ct yellow gold mount has been expertly designed and handcrafted to perfectly showcase this beautiful gemstone. Bold split shoulders inspired by the star-like asterism have been set with shimmering calibre cut diamonds (1.13ct). More intensively sparkling brilliants have been set around the bezel and into the claw tops (0.11ct).
