Georgian Agate Cameo Ring 1.03ct in Silver and 18ct Yellow Gold

A delicate cameo ring from the Georgian period. The central cameo features two Roman style figures, and has been expertly carved out of an oval of two colour agate. Secured in a rub over setting and surrounded by a halo of old cut diamonds that have been set into silver. Jewellery from the Georgian era (1714-c. 1837) has rarely survived into current times, with the finest examples being highly coveted by collectors worldwide. For the nobility and wealthy élite, evening social occasions became increasingly popular, which were made all the more enjoyable through the introduction of brighter burning candles.
