Description
A classic platinum, diamond and emerald ring from the Edwardian period. Showcasing refined Edwardian elegance, this glowing verdant green 3.17ct emerald is securely set with four claws, surrounded by a halo of romantically sparkling old cut diamonds. Exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail can be seen in the fine setting of these diamonds, and the pierced under bezel. The top sections of each shoulder showcase further refined diamond setting. The Edwardian period only lasted for nine years (1901-1910), but it was an incredibly important era for jewellery design. Hugely intricate pieces showcasing the very best diamonds and coloured gemstones were worn with elaborate fashions from the most famous French couture houses. Driven by the explosion of court life, steered by the fashion-conscious King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, this was a truly special time.
