Edwardian Heart Shaped 3.33ct Amethyst and Diamond Pendant in 18ct White Gold
HEART & ROSE CUT, MILLEGRAIN SET
Description
A romantic amethyst and diamond pendant from the Edwardian period. The enchanting heart shape of the central deep purple amethyst (3.33cts) has been securely millegrain set into 18ct yellow gold. This has been surrounded by a halo of sparkling rose cut diamonds that perfectly showcase this beautiful gemstone. An intricate openwork garland surround completes the design, which shimmers with further rose cut stones (0.61ct) set into white gold. The Edwardian period only lasted for nine years (1901-1910), but it was an incredibly important era for jewellery design. Hugely intricate pieces showcasing the very best diamonds and coloured gemstones were worn with elaborate fashions from the most famous French couture houses. Driven by the explosion of court life, steered by the fashion-conscious King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, this was a truly special time.
