Description

A classic 18ct yellow gold and diamond Toi et Moi cross-over ring. A sparkling antique cushion cut diamond has been securely claw set alongside a lustrous creamy pearl forming the centrepiece of this classic ring. Slim shoulders elegantly curve into the centre section between both stones, catching the eye set with smaller sparkling old cut stones. This style of ring was hugely popular during the Edwardian period (1901-1910). Derived from the French term meaning “you and me”, it perfectly symbolises the pair of diamonds that feature at the centre of the design. Popular as an engagement ring style during the 19th-century and early 20th-centuries, the two stones represented the two lovers joining together. Her Majesty Margrethe II of Denmark wears an outstanding Van Cleef & Arpels diamond Toi et Moi ring that was presented to her on her engagement to Henri Laborde de Monpezat in 1967.
