Description
A classic platinum, diamond and Colombian emerald ring from the Edwardian period. Showcasing refined Edwardian elegance, a verdant green emerald glows delicately millegrain set into platinum surrounded by a scalloped halo of romantically sparkling old cut diamonds. Exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail can be seen in the fine setting of these diamonds that perfectly complement the central emerald. Nestled beneath the verdant rainforests that cover the country, the Colombian mines are famous for producing stones that have an intense pure green colour. The Edwardian period only lasted for nine years (1901-1910), but it was an incredibly important era for jewellery design. Hugely intricate pieces showcasing the very best diamonds and coloured gemstones were worn with elaborate fashions from the most famous French couture houses. Driven by the explosion of court life, steered by the fashion-conscious King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, this was a truly special time.
