Description

An elegant 3.00ct cabochon Colombian emerald target ring from the Edwardian period. The tactile domed form of this lively emerald catches the light perfectly, and will glow in the warm spring sunshine. Securely set into complimentary rose gold this energising gemstone has been surrounded by a gleaming double halo of sparkling old cut diamonds that have been expertly set into platinum Showcasing the glowing emerald as the “target” this design is still incredibly popular today, and expertly draws the eye towards the emerald centre stone. Decorated shoulders, and an elegant shank complete the design of this immensely wearable ring, which originates from a hugely important period for jewellery.
The Edwardian period only lasted for nine years (1901-1910), but it was an incredibly important era for jewellery design. Hugely intricate pieces showcasing the very best diamonds and gemstones were worn with elaborate fashions from the most famous French couture houses. Driven by the explosion of court life steered by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, this was a truly special time.
Nestled beneath the verdant rainforests that cover the country, the Colombian mines are famous for producing stones that have an intense green colour. Certified by the SSEF (Swiss Gemmological Institute) to confirm its Colombian origin, this example has only been subjected to minor clarity enhancement. Showcasing the birthstones for the months of April and May this superb quality example will make the perfect engagement or dress ring. Check Specifications for ring size details.
