Cushion Cut 4.64ct Sri Lankan Sapphire and Diamond Ring in 18ct Yellow Gold & Platinum

Sparkling with vibrant sea blue tones a 4.64ct cushion cut Sri-Lankan sapphire has been securely claw set as the centrepiece of this stunning ring. This beautiful sapphire has been perfectly complemented by two antique cushion cut diamonds (2.04cts) set either side forming a classic trilogy design. Hand selected by members of the Pragnell family the sapphire and diamonds set into this ring have been expertly reset from an antique design that had become too worn to repair. Sri Lanka (Ceylon) is known as "The Gem Island” and is famous for producing a wide variety of exceptional quality stones. Many of the most famous sapphires in the world have come from Sri Lanka, with the characteristic vivid, lighter, and brighter blue colour of these stones being highly regarded. The sapphire set into this ring is accompanied with certification from the GCS laboratory confirming it has not been subjected to any heat treatment to enhance its colour and clarity. Beautifully combining the birthstones for the months of April and September; historically the three diamonds of a trilogy ring symbolise the couple's past, present and future.
