Description

A showpiece bold gold and diamond bracelet from our Cleopatra collection. Tactile, faceted, barrel-shaped beads have been linked together to form this statement piece (19cm). Each link has been hand-polished to ensure a unique radiance when worn against the skin. Small sparkling brilliant cut diamonds (1.921ct) fully adorn one link and continue onto the delicate collars that define each link making up the bracelet. This collection has been designed by members of the Pragnell family, who visited Egypt to see the wonders of this ancient civilisation. Masters of intricate goldwork and gemstone jewellery, barrel-shaped bead or 'Sha'bi' pattern designs in gold and precious gemstones were found in the three-thousand-year-old tomb of the Eighteenth Dynasty pharaoh, Tutankhamun. Discovered in 1922, the wonders of ancient Egyptian gold jewellery captured the imaginations of the most famous jewellery Houses in the world. This collection pays homage to the last pharaoh, Cleopatra, whose beauty has become legendary. Famously portrayed by Elizabeth Taylor in 1963, beautiful bold gold Eugene Joseff jewels dominated the screen and reawakened an interest in this most fascinating period of history. The name of the collection, Cleopatra, pays testament to one of the most famous, alluring and unique women of history, famed throughout literature and legend for her beauty, taste and power.
