Art Deco Tiffany & Co. Diamond and Garnet Frog Stickpin in 14ct Yellow Gold and Platinum
Old European Cut, Grain set
Description
A characterful Art Deco stick pin by the House of Tiffany & Co (c. 1920). Expertly modelled, the body of the frog dazzles set with old European cut diamonds with two vibrant green demantoid garnets forming watchful eyes. A byword for American luxury, Tiffany & Co was founded in 1837 and became a favoured establishment for the supremely wealthy industrialists of the Gilded Age. The house was at its peak when it was owned and run by the family from 1837-1999. Frogs often featured in the designs of the House during the 20th-century with the famed designer Jean Schlumberger often depicting them. This superb, signed stick pin is a perfect example of the wonders of the period, and will make an extra special lapel pin to be worn and enjoyed by both ladies and gentlemen.
