Description

A stylish Art Deco (1930s) orange chalcedony and black enamel bracelet by the renowned French designer and manufacturer Georges L’Enfant. Four warm orange sugarloaf cut chalcedony gemstones define this chic design, which have been surrounded by midnight black enamel borders. Polished yellow gold openwork rectangular links complete the design of this most stylish bracelet. The name Georges L’Enfant has become synonymous with distinctive design and craftsmanship, both creating under his own name and retailed by many famous residents of the Place Vendome. The best pieces by Georges L’Enfant date from the Art Deco period, and showcase strong forms, geometric lines and refined colour palettes. This bracelet is no exception, and would have caught many admiring glances worn with the short sleeved fashions of the day. The orange, black and yellow gold colour combination is particularly striking, which can be seen clearly in the designs depicted in Vogue magazine from the period.
