Description

A showpiece French sapphire and diamond openwork plaque ring from the Art Deco period. The central rectangular cut rich blue sapphire has been securely rubover set as the centrepiece of this stunning ring. This beautiful sapphire has been surrounded by an old cut diamond set openwork detail, elongated hexagonal surround. An intricate pierced gallery, with old cut diamonds set into the top sections of each shoulder, complete this statement design. Crafted in France (dog’s head hallmark) during the Art Deco period (1911-1940), the strong forms and geometric lines that are recognisable from pieces produced during the era can be clearly seen. Combining the birthstones for both April and September this will make a perfect gift to be worn and enjoyed.
