Silver Queen Victoria Three Bottle Decanter Tantalus E P Mount, 1920
$1,739
Description
A three-bottle tantalus comprising a silver plated frame of rectangular form with shaped wooden side supports and a flat carrying handle above, securing three hobnail-cut glass decanters with faceted ball stoppers. A locking bar across the front holds the decanters in place, the defining feature of the tantalus, designed to display the contents temptingly whilst keeping them under lock and key. A practical and handsome piece of Edwardian entertaining silver, the warm tone of the wooden uprights providing an effective contrast to the bright plated frame and sparkling cut glass. A classic addition to any drinks cabinet or sideboard.
