Hallmarked London
$3,200
Description
A silver tankard of plain baluster form, the unadorned polished body defined by a central reeded girdle and rising from a stepped circular foot. The domed hinged cover is surmounted by a reeded finial and operated by a shaped scroll thumbpiece.Hallmarked London 1777, this is a fine and weighty example of late Georgian silver in the purest tradition unembellished, beautifully proportioned and entirely dependent on the quality of its form. A piece that collectors of English silver will immediately recognise and appreciate.
