Silver and Ivory Crumb Scoop J. Gilbert, 1881
Hallmarked Birmingham
$1,078
Description
A fine Victorian silver and ivory crumb scoop by J. Gilbert, hallmarked Birmingham 1881. The broad silver blade is engraved with a lively figural scene of cherubs amongst foliage. The plain ivory handle, joined by a decorative silver collar, provides an elegant contrast to the engraved blade. The piece retains its original fitted case, lined in purple silk and velvet, a rare and pleasing peice that speaks to the care with which it has been kept. A charming and collectable example of Victorian table silver in excellent order.
