Description

A striking English-made George V Art Deco silver-plated cocktail shaker, dated 1935, in the distinctive form of a buoy. The shaker features a bold, streamlined silhouette characteristic of the later Art Deco period, with a broad, gently rounded lower section tapering upwards to a narrower neck and flared rim. Elegant horizontal bands provide subtle decoration, while the highly polished silver-plated surface gives the piece a particularly impressive appearance. The unusual buoy-shaped form makes this an especially distinctive example of 1930s cocktail ware, combining practical function with the geometric, streamlined aesthetic associated with the Art Deco movement. Made in England during the reign of George V, it represents the sophistication and glamour of the interwar cocktail era. An excellent piece for collectors of Art Deco silver plate, period cocktail ware, English barware and unusual decorative objects.
