Hallmarked London
Description
A fine George III silver pair of candle wick trimmers, hallmarked London, 1815, made by Abstinando King. Of elegant and finely ornamented form, the scissor-action handles are embellished with elaborate scrolling foliate and shell motifs, complemented by a circular engraved detail at the hinge. The rectangular snuffer box features a decorative border of shell and linear motifs, while the slender pointed blades extend from a finely modelled shell terminal.
