Each year, for 12 years, Montblanc is celebrating the eastern zodiac of the year. The year of the rat begins with the Chinese New Year in 2020. The Montblanc Legend of Zodiacs The Rat Limited Edition 512 (8x8x8) is dedicated to the zodiac sign rat and also honours the number 8, which is a lucky number according to Asian beliefs. The Ag 925 sterling silver cap is hand engraved with a rat. The champagne-tone gold-coated barrel is adorned with delicately engraved ornaments inspired by the "lucky cloud". The champagne-tone gold-coated cone is set with a red garnet in reference to the birthstone of the rat sign. The current year of the rat, 2020, is engraved on the cap ring alongside the last six years that fall under the sign of the rat. The cap is crowned by the Montblanc emblem in mother-of-pearl. The nib, made of Au 750 solid gold is adorned with a fine engraving of the rat symbol.
