Inspired by Queen’s Greatest Hits II album (1991), the Montblanc Great Characters Homage to Queen Special Edition reflects the album’s dark blue and gold colour scheme. Subtle engravings of the band’s “tools of trade” appear on the precious resin: microphone and bass on the cap, guitar and drum kit on the barrel. The cone design honours Brian May’s guitar, featuring fluting, a red dot and the album’s release date. The cap top is inspired by Freddie Mercury’s crown from his final performance of God Save the Queen, symbolising the band’s legacy, while the gold-coated clip echoes his iconic microphone stand.
