Where others have perfected the tourbillon, Jaeger-LeCoultre have transcended it, engineering a triple-axis construction that achieves 98 per cent of all possible positions to counteract the effects of gravity, a feat no other 4Hz tourbillon on the market can match. At its heart, the manually wound Calibre 178 houses three titanium cages rotating along X, Y and Z axes at three distinct speeds, while a cylindrical balance spring ensures isochronic performance in every conceivable position. The result of 22 years of refinement, this 189-component structure weighs a mere 0.783 grams, a masterwork of miniaturisation barely larger than a pearl.The artistry extends far beyond the movement itself.
