Description
The Ferdinand Berthoud Chronomètre FB 3SPC.3-1 represents the pinnacle of horological artistry - a perfect harmony of technical mastery and timeless elegance. Inspired by the rare No. 26 decimal watch created in Berthoud's Paris workshop in 1753, its FB-SPC calibre reveals a striking three-dimensional architecture, with the mainplate exposed and a sapphire porthole at 9 o'clock offering a view of the regulating organ, balance, pallet lever, and escape wheel. The movement delivers a 72-hour power reserve. Each component is inspected under magnification of up to 6.7× - nearly three times the industry standard - ensuring flawless finishing. Hundreds of hours of handcrafting go into every timepiece: over 30 hours are devoted to the 57-component platinum case, and around 100 hours to decorating the movement. Artisans meticulously hand-polish bevels, sandblast surfaces, and apply galvanic finishes across 230 components. This exceptional watch features a black PVD-treated movement paired with refined details: a crown in ethical 18-carat white gold, a black-varnished inner bezel and dial, and elegant 18-carat white gold hands. The piece is presented on a luxurious alligator leather strap.
