Description
Launched in March 1969, the TAG Heuer Monaco is an icon of avant-garde watchmaking — the world’s first square-cased, water-resistant automatic chronograph. Originally designed for the revolutionary Calibre 11, it achieved legendary status when Steve McQueen wore it in the 1971 film Le Mans. Though initially a commercial challenge, its 1997 re-edition cemented its place as a modern classic. This Special Edition pays tribute to the rare all-black Monaco of the 1970s. Its black circular brushed dial is offset by 5N rose gold-plated hands and indexes filled with bold white Super-Luminova®, while an open case back reveals the automatic Calibre TH20-00, featuring a matching 5N rose gold-plated oscillating weight. This watch has a 39mm black DLC titanium case, powered by the manufacture Calibre TH20-00 with an 80-hour power reserve. Water-resistant to 100 metres, it is paired with a black alligator strap and black DLC titanium folding clasp with double safety push buttons. TAG Heuer offers a 2-year Limited International Warranty, which can be extended by 3 years (total 5 years) by registering online.
