Description
Launched in March 1969, the TAG Heuer Monaco is an icon of avant-garde watchmaking — the world’s first square-cased, water-resistant automatic chronograph. Originally designed for the revolutionary Calibre 11, it achieved legendary status when Steve McQueen wore it in the 1971 film Le Mans. Though initially a commercial challenge, its 1997 re-edition cemented its place as a modern classic. Its design captures the spirit of racing: a blue opaline dial with horizontal steel indexes, silver sub-dials for chronograph minutes and hours, a date at 6 o’clock, and a striking red chronograph hand. The look is completed by a black perforated calfskin leather strap, inspired by the texture of racetrack asphalt. Powered by the Calibre 11 automatic movement with a 40-hour power reserve, this legendary chronograph is water-resistant to 100 metres. TAG Heuer offers a 2-year Limited International Warranty, which can be extended by 3 years (total 5 years) by registering online.
