The Patek Philippe Futurist-inspired Celestial model features sunrise and sunset indications. Housed in a 47 mm white gold case inspired by space modules, it showcases a spectacular and highly technical dial. The sapphire-crystal dial reveals the exact configuration of the sky in the Northern Hemisphere. An ellipse frames the portion of the sky visible from Geneva and all other cities located at the same latitude, illustrating the apparent movement of the stars as well as the phases and orbit of the Moon. Floating above this celestial display, skeletonised hour and minute hands in white gold with white varnish indicate the time, while additional pointer hands provide sunrise and sunset indications. Equipped with mechanisms for displaying sunrise and sunset times, as well as summer-to-winter time correction, the calibre 240 C LU CL LCSO took more than five years to develop and resulted in six patented innovations.
