About Tudor Watches

The house of Veuve de Philippe Hüther, a watch dealer and maker, registered the trademark ‘The Tudor’, for Hans Wilsdorf in 1926. However, it wasn’t until 1932 that the brand was transferred to the Rolex founder, who then established the Tudor company. This new company intended to create a watch offering of the same quality and craftsmanship as its older sibling, Rolex, but with a more modest price point.

Tudor owes much of its initial success to its affiliation with Rolex, but is now an iconic name in its own right. Tudor timepieces are Swiss made and offer luxury and style in equal measure, in keeping with the brand’s rich heritage. Its high quality craftsmanship led to Tudor watches being adopted for use by several professional organisations, including navies, armies and expedition teams worldwide. Their accessible price point and timeless design have helped them become one of the most beloved luxury watch brands in the world.

One of Tudor’s most popular watches is the Tudor Black Bay, a Swiss dive watch, launched in 2012; it is inspired by the 1954 Tudor Submariner, known as the Tudor Prince Submariner ref 7922 Calibre Fleurier 390 Movement.

The Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight was also released to pay tribute to an historic model, namely the first Tudor diver’s watch that was waterproof to 200 metres, created in 1958, and known as the Big Crown ref 7924 Oyster Prince Submariner.
