Description

A statement 14ct rose gold cross pendant, set with mixed cut yellow topaz gemstones from the Victorian period. Eleven topaz stones have been expertly set into closed back settings, perfectly forming an iconic cross shape. Warm rose gold securely holds these stones in place perfectly complementing the yellow tones of the topaz gemstones. Cross pendants were particularly popular during the 19th-century, with examples being worn by pious individuals to demonstrate their faith. In more modern times, Jackie Kennedy had a large collection of cross pendants, which she wore frequently throughout her lifetime. Wearable today as a symbol of Christianity, or simply as an iconic form, the yellow colour tones will look superb worn against a white silk shirt. A collectible piece that features the French guarantee shell mark, and a 46cm rope effect chain.
