Description
An iconic sculptural bombé cocktail ring from the Retro period. Seven rare certified natural pearls have been set into warm yellow gold, which perfectly complements their rich, light rose, creamy lustre. Four raised teardrop shaped gold sections add further definition and complete the design. The name 'bombé' comes from the French and literally means 'bomb-shaped'. This style of ring is seen from the Edwardian period onwards. However, it was in the 1950s, 60s and 70s that the bombé became an iconic design. Natural pearls are an incredibly rare and sought after gemstone, with most being plucked from the depths of the dangerous Persian Gulf by only the bravest of divers. In the 19th century, the largest and most lustrous examples were worth far more than diamonds. Completely individual in style, this is an iconic example of Retro jewellery. Inspired by the glamour of Hollywood, the bold and sculptural style makes it highly collectable and coveted today. Check Specifications for ring size details.
