A delicate 18ct yellow gold French long necklace (150cm) from the Edwardian period. Showcasing superb attention to detail, and expert craftsmanship scalloped oval links showcase intricate pierced twisted gold details depicting romantic hearts and iconic diamonds. These statement links have been bordered with further twisted gold decoration, and are linked together by three smaller slim oval and four figure of eight examples. Perfectly adapted to the fashions of the period long gold chains were worn cascading over expensive corseted gowns, and layered with elaborate choker and negligee jewels. Showcasing bold gold style this necklace can be worn to its full statement length, or doubled into a shorter necklace.
