Description

An imposing three row diamond, ruby and sapphire cocktail ring from the Art Deco period (c. 1930). Popular throughout the period designs such as these were used to boldly showcase diamonds and gemstones. Here we see a central romantic antique cushion cut diamond (1.69ct) flanked by a vibrant sea blue sapphire and rich red ruby. This classic trio of colours was frequently used during the 19th and 20th-centuries to symbolise both the French national flag and our own Union Jack. Showcasing the geometric lines that were favoured by Art Deco further small old cut diamonds have been intricately set in all three rows. Crafted from 18ct white gold, and combining the birthstones for April, July and September this is as wearable today as it was nearly one hundred years ago.
