Patek Philippe Complications 4947/1A-001 Watch

Patek Philippe have been masters of complicated watchmaking since they were founded in Geneva in 1839. Entering their 182nd year in 2021, the 4947/1A is the latest addition to Patek Philippe's hugely successful ladies' 4947 range that was launched in 2015. The immensely practical annual calendar complication is a relative newcomer to Patek Philippe, having first been introduced into their collections in 1996. This complication automatically states the day, date, month and moon phases, with manual adjustment of the date required only once per year (1st March). A retro inspired, rich blue, vertical and horizontal satin 'shantung' finished dial takes centre stage and perfectly showcases the three sub dials. Gleaming hand polished gold numerals enable effortless reading of the time and perfectly complement the richly polished steel case and bracelet. Wristwatches made from steel are much more unusual than precious platinum and gold examples, which are favoured for the majority of Patek Philippe creations. A new modern and stylish round Calatrava type 38mm case will suit all wrists, and houses the famous self-winding movement (calibre 324S QA LU), which has a maximum 45-hour power reserve. Patek Philippe created their first ladies' wristwatch in 1868 and have continued to produce ultra-feminine complicated creations throughout their history.
