A friend of the family, John is a rare jewel with a shared passion for watches and performance engineering. This year, John will compete in the six races of the Le Mans Cup in the Prototype 3 class (LMP3). With two first-place finishes in 2023 at Motorland in Spain and then at the home of endurance racing, Le Mans, it promises to be an exciting season ahead for John and the Nielson Team.

The Le Mans Series sees a handful of drivers compete in 4-hour-long endurance races, completing as many laps as possible in the allotted times, with the Prototype 3 (LMP3) category showcasing ingenuity and design in a variety of hand-built cars, all powered by Nissan’s naturally aspirated VK56DE 5.6L V8. The first race of 2024 in Barcelona is on 14th April, so stay tuned to see how John gets on.

Laurent Ferrier

For decades there have been parallels between precision engineering and Swiss watchmaking, both a masterclass in great design, controlling power and endurance that are rarely brought closer than with Laurent Ferrier.

Laurent Ferrier

Hailing from a family of watchmakers, at just 22, Laurent Ferrier decided to use skills learnt at the bench to make precision automotive parts to fund his passion for motor racing. In 1971, Laurent Ferrier met Francois Sevrain, an industrialist and racing driver, at the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours race. Their shared passion for mechanics and speed cemented their friendship, and the pair went on to race seven times at Le Mans, winning in 1977 and coming third in 1979 at the wheel of a Porsche 935T.
