About F.P. Journe
François-Paul Journe began his watchmaking journey in the 1970s, when he attended and graduated from a Parisian watchmaking school.
Inspired by timepieces from the eighteenth century, considered to be the golden age of watchmaking, he began exploring all the aspects of ancient horology, and went on to restore one of a kind historical pieces. These unique creations were by commission only, and they were the result of hours of research and restoration. Realising all his efforts were lost when the commissioned timepiece was collected, Journe began dreaming of producing a collection of high horology watches, offering the same qualities, but available for the public to purchase.
It was in 1999 when the first F.P Journe collection was launched. All F.P. Journe watches are signed with his name, along with the Latin wording, Invenit et Fecit, meaning, “Invented and made”. This is to certify that each of the watches results from an original conception involving meticulous craftsmanship. He has since had to adapt his tailor-made knowledge to the process of industrialisation; all of his components have been invented so that they can be manufactured to his specific requirements.
F.P. Journe watches are a unique combination of the golden age of horological science and contemporary watchmaking.
