A striking 18ct yellow gold book chain necklace (47cm) from the Victorian period. Hugely popular during the second half of the 19th-century these chains were used to great effect suspending bold cameos and lockets. The iconic name for this style of chain is due to the fact that the links are made from folded rectangles of gold, which were thought to resemble books. This stunning example showcases vacant oval sections, and engraved strap work details. Perfect to wear and enjoy today either as a statement piece, or layered with other necklaces in your collection.
